Originally created in 1925 by Ernest Beaux and re-released in 1983 (and later in the Les Exclusifs collection by Jacques Polge), Gardénia is a tribute to the beautiful, yet unscented, gardenia flower that Gabrielle Chanel adored. Because the natural gardenia flower cannot be distilled, the scent is a fantasy reconstruction using other natural and synthetic ingredients. It is a lush, creamy, and intensely elegant White Floral fragrance. The scent is defined by a dense blend of white flowers, primarily Tuberose and Jasmine, with a fresh, green opening, and a creamy, musky dry-down, capturing the abstract beauty of the gardenia.
