Ilio Eau de Toilette

Ilio—named after Ilios, the Greek word for “sun”—is one of Diptyque’s most sought-after seasonal releases. It is designed to evoke the “landscape of the soul” found along the Mediterranean coast. The fragrance is most famous for its Prickly Pear (Barbary Fig) accord, which provides a unique, watery fruitiness that is fresh and slightly green, rather than syrupy or sweet.

The scent opens with a bright, zesty Bergamot that quickly moves into a heart of Jasmine and Iris. The Iris here is not heavy or “makeup-like” (as in Dior Homme); instead, it provides a velvety, soft-focus finish that mimics the feeling of warm sun on the skin. Many fans compare its “vibe” to a luxury SPF lotion or a clean, cooling breeze in an Italian garden. While it is an Eau de Toilette with moderate longevity (approx. 4–6 hours), its uplifting and breezy character makes it a cult favorite for high summer.
