Created by Cartier’s in-house perfumer Mathilde Laurent, Oud & Ambre is part of the prestigious Les Heures Voyageuses collection, which pays homage to the olfactory history of the East. This fragrance is designed around contrast and balance; it avoids the typical “crowded” pyramid of many oriental perfumes, instead letting the raw materials speak for themselves.

The scent is characterized by a spicy sweetness that emerges from the amber, which is paired with the deep, animalic, and woody facets of Oud. On the skin, it is known for being remarkably smooth rather than harsh, evolving into a velvety, syrupy warmth that many enthusiasts compare to a more refined and “woody” take on the famous Grand Soir.
