Launched in 2020 as part of The Liquors collection (a tribute to Kilian Hennessy’s heritage), Roses on Ice was created by perfumer Frank Voelkl. The bottle is a masterpiece of design, styled like an Art Deco cocktail glass with weighted, “crystal” carved glass that is fully refillable.
The scent is famous for its hyper-realistic opening of Cucumber and Juniper Berries, which immediately evokes the icy, botanical sting of a premium gin. As the initial “chill” settles, a delicate Rose Centifolia heart emerges—not as a heavy floral, but as a transparent, dewy petal note. The dry down is clean and slightly woody, featuring Sandalwood and Musk. Unlike many other Kilian fragrances that are dark and syrupy, this is bright, translucent, and incredibly refreshing. It is a “quiet luxury” scent that smells clean, expensive, and crisp.
