Amouage Reasons Eau De Parfum

Released in 2024 as part of the “Amouage Essences” collection, Reasons was composed by the prolific master perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. This collection marks a revolutionary step in perfumery for the house, utilizing a meticulous six-month aging process that includes a double-infusion with 65-year-old Australian sandalwood chips and custom French oakwood barrels. Reasons is an olfactory meditation on the passage of time and the depth of memory. It opens with a warm, comforting hazelnut accord accented by a fiery blend of cardamom and cinnamon. As it develops, the heart introduces the complex, herbaceous-fruity facets of davana and resinous pine. The fragrance is anchored by a masterful, grounding base of smoky palo santo, earthy oakmoss, and rich resins like myrrh and benzoin, creating a sophisticated and enduring “slow-burn” experience.
