Created by master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena as his “farewell” to the Hermessence collection, Muguet Porcelaine is an exercise in minimalism and technical mastery. The bottle is the signature Hermessence heavy glass flacon, topped with a soft, celadon-green leather cap that mimics the color of a lily leaf.
Lily of the Valley (Muguet) is a “silent flower,” meaning its scent cannot be naturally extracted; it must be reconstructed by the perfumer. Ellena’s version is often described as “porcelain-like” because it feels translucent and delicate. It opens with a cool, watery sensation—almost like a slice of Cucumber or a Melon—before revealing the star of the show: a fresh, white floral heart that smells like a garden after a spring rain. Unlike older, soapy versions of Muguet, this one is green and botanical. It is a light, ethereal scent that stays close to the skin, offering a sophisticated and refreshing aura.
